Rotary drum filter

1  General description

Rotary drum filters are widely used in Martin Method to separate wheat gluten from starch.

The equipments’ main parts are made by stainless steel, and through special surface treatment, it has anti-oil and anti-dirt functions together with a good appearance. The equipment features in big handling capacity, reasonable motive power match and high starch screening efficiency.

The equipment is independent made by Meckey Engineering Co, which is easy installation and maintenance.

2    Structure and principle

Rotary drum filter is comprised by reducer, feeding parts, screen drum parts, spaying parts, top cover parts, machine frame, drive and driven wheel etc. The screen has 4 sections with the screen gap 0.0mm, 0.5mm, 1.0mm, and 1.5mm respectively which are shown as below.

When the equipment is running, the starch slurry (containing gluten) flows into the screen parts through feeding side. By the help of spraying water, the water and starch flow into next process while the gluten gather and is conveyed to another side to gluten receiving parts.

   The both inside and outside of the filter have set spraying device, which can wash the gluten and separate the starch.
